What does the Prosperity Index for London measure?

The Prosperity Index for London is compiled from specially-commissioned household survey data, which compares local experience to the average for Greater London.

The Prosperity Index is organised into 5 domains and 15 sub-domains, which measure 32 headline indicators constructed from 67 metrics. Click on the graphics below to see what each domain measures.

The Prosperity Index compares levels of prosperity in east London neighbourhoods to the average for London.

Of the 67 metrics, 38 are constructed from new household survey data and 29 are constructed from secondary data sources. For a detailed description of the indexing method see the Summary of Methodology and Description of Indicators.
